The Weather Edit, RIP Trend, and 3 More Instagram Trends (Trends for July: Week 5)

This week's pack made me laugh out loud twice while I was building it, and one of those times was because I locked an arm in place so none of you could accidentally break it. That should tell you everything about the energy of these five trends.

Trend Drops works the same way it always has. I watch what is actually taking off on Instagram, I build the template before it gets oversaturated, and every Monday it lands inside Your Template Club so you can post it that same day. No filming for hours, no staring at a blank Canva page trying to figure out what everyone else already knows.

This batch leans heavy into humor and personality, which means almost none of it requires you to be on camera. A stretched out arm, a tombstone, a meme with cutouts, an aesthetic photo edit, and a reel you can build entirely from B-roll. Let's get into all five, plus the bonus I tucked in at the end.

Trend One: Long Arm Carousel

This is the one I am most excited about this week. It is the swipe to see trend, except the arm keeps stretching further and further across every slide until you finally reach the payoff. Swipe to see our new collection. One more swipe. Swipe to see my favorite business tools. It is genuinely satisfying to watch someone finish the swipe, and that is exactly why people keep going instead of scrolling past after slide one.

I built this with two different skin tone options so more of you can make it feel like your own, and I locked the arm placement on purpose. If it gets moved even a little, the illusion breaks and the stretch stops reading as one continuous motion across the slides, so leave that part alone and focus your energy on the ending.

The arm being unrealistically long is the joke. We stretched a real arm out on purpose, so do not worry if it looks exaggerated, that is the point. I kept the template mostly free of extra text so it does not feel cluttered, but there is a copy and paste text element ready to go if you want to label what you are revealing on each slide.

Reach for this one when you have something worth building anticipation around, a launch, a reveal, or a new offer you want people genuinely excited to see.

Trend Two: R.I.P.

This is the easiest template in the whole pack, and it is a tombstone. RIP the audio you saved at 1am. RIP the course you bought and never opened. RIP the email list you swore you would start emailing this year. It is funny because it is true, and your audience is going to see themselves in it immediately.

The build is genuinely simple. All you are changing is the audio and the words on the tombstone. Swap the background too if it does not match your vibe, but honestly the template works great as is. You do not need a big concept here, just the one thing your ideal client keeps meaning to do and never does. RIP the freebie they downloaded and forgot about. RIP the template they saved six months ago and never used. Name it, and let the joke do the rest.

This is a great one to post first if you are short on time this week. It takes minutes to customize and it is the kind of relatable that gets sent straight to someone's group chat.

Trend Three: Basic Human Needs

Basic human needs. Oxygen, water, food, shelter, and then whatever your community cannot function without. The whole joke lives in that last item, and it works for any business because you get to decide what it is.

I built this one with cutouts so you are not starting from scratch, some I made myself and some pulled straight from Canva's library, so you have plenty of options. If you sell a physical product, drop in a cutout of that product as the fifth need. If you are a service provider, this is where a cutout of yourself or a tool you use comes in. Coach, consultant, hairdresser, it bends to whatever you do.

This one performs so well because it takes almost no effort to understand and almost no effort to relate to. People do not have to stop and think about the joke, which means they are more likely to tag a friend or send it straight to their story. If you want fast, easy engagement this week, this is a strong pick.

Trend Four: The Weather Edit

If you have noticed that iPhone style weather widget showing up layered over people's photos lately, that is The Weather Edit, and it is everywhere right now. I built two layouts so you have options depending on what you are showing off, one is three photos in a single background, and the other is two separate backgrounds with two photos each.

Here is the part people get wrong with this trend. You do not have to be standing outside talking about the actual temperature. That is just the aesthetic. Use it to show off a new headshot, a mood for the week, an outfit, or whatever you want people to notice. If you do lean into the literal weather concept, make sure the temperature and location on the template actually match your photo so it does not look off.

This is one of the more polished looking templates in the pack, but it is still drag, drop, and done. If you have been wanting to post something that feels a little more elevated without hiring a photographer, this is your trend.

Trend Five: "I Will Succeed" Reel

This one is a spin on the I'm Insane trend that has been floating around, and it is popular right now for a reason. The format is simple. I will succeed because I use your thing, and also I'm insane. It is dramatic on purpose, and that is what makes it funny.

All you need is a B-roll clip. It can be your own footage, or you can pull something straight from Canva, ocean waves, a city shot, whatever fits your brand. Then swap in the text. I will succeed because I use Your Template Club's Trend Drops, and also I'm insane. If you are a creator working with a brand, this works the exact same way. I will succeed because I use the sunscreen from so and so, and also I'm insane.

This is one of the best options in the pack if you want to post something today without touching a camera or filming yourself talking. It is a no camera, no hair and makeup required reel that still feels current and still gets watched.

This Week's Bonus: A Custom Emoji Pack Inside Canva

Stick with me all the way to the bottom of this pack because I tucked in something extra this week, a full set of custom emojis built right inside Canva. These are not the default emoji library everyone has access to, they are pulled together specifically to match the vibe of this week's drop, and you can drop them straight into your captions, your carousels, or any graphic you are building.

Think of it as the little detail that makes your content feel a bit more you without any extra work. Grab the set, save your favorites, and start sprinkling them into whatever you post this week.

Which Trend Should You Post First

If you only have time for one this week, think about what you actually need right now.

  • If you want something fast and relatable that takes almost no setup, start with R.I.P. or Basic Human Needs. Both are built to be shared and both take minutes to customize.

  • If you are trying to make something feel a little more polished or you want to show off a photo, go with The Weather Edit.

  • And if you have been putting off posting a reel because you do not want to be on camera, the "I Will Succeed" Reel is your easiest way in this week, B-roll only, no talking required.

  • Save the Long Arm Carousel for when you have something worth building anticipation around. It takes a little more intention, but the payoff is worth it.

You do not need to post all five this week. Grab the one or two that fit your brand right now, save the rest, and do not forget to snag the emoji pack while you are in there.
