How to use Instagram Guides to grow your followers and get more sales

Want to use Instagram Guides to grow your account and convert sales? You will need to focus on two things: shares and calls to action.

To get more Guide SHARES:

Create Guides with your audience’s favorite content + remind them to share.

People are not yet in the habit of sharing Instagram Guides to their stories, but they can do that easily by tapping on the top right paper airplane icon.

For people to share your Guides to stories, add a call to action asking them to do so in your Guide description.

Create guides with their favorite content from your feed.

To do that:

  • go to your Instagram Insights

  • go to posts

  • select shares in the drop down menu to look at your top shared posts

  • create guides with those topics and posts

If featuring others, add their handle and share it with them via DM for a bigger chance they will share with their audiences.

To get more sales or clicks:

1) Edit the captions of the posts in your Guide

Since guides are made with older posts, your caption may have info or a call to action that is no longer current, like a link in bio that is no longer there. If that’s the case, edit the captions of the posts that you will use in your guide.

You can say “DM us for the link” or even “go to our website and click on x”.

2) Add a call to action to guide description like share this to stories or pushing for DM me for the link

Also…

To make your Guide easier to understand, make sure you pick a photo that is not too busy or too light, since the title of the guide is always white and you can't move it or change sized.

You can choose a cover for your Guide from any of the images in your Guide or a different photo in your feed.

Hopefully soon they will allow us to add covers from the camera roll.

Have fun with this tool!
