What no one is telling you about Instagram Reels and what your feed should look like in 2020

Most new Instagram features affect your strategy and #Reels is no different. But no one's talking about it, so let me just lay it out for you.

You may have noticed that Instagram Reels are now mixed with feed posts in the scroll.

This means that your static photos are now going to be sandwiched between very cool videos of influencers magically changing their entire outfit multiple times to the sound of Level Up.

Guess which one will make people stop the scroll?

This means it's time you LEVEL UP your posts on your feed too!

I said it before and will say it again: I don’t think ANY accounts should still have a photo only feed in 2020.

Instagram user habits have changed in the past few years. As they follow more and more accounts, they scroll faster and faster and will not stop to see your post unless they see something different, like video or animated posts, or spot a topic they are interested in.

But how will they see a topic in a photo? You’re right! They can’t.

Even if your photo is directly related to the topic of your caption, most likely your audience can’t figure out what your captions will say just by looking at it.

That’s why all-type posts or posts that have a familiar format, like Instagram sticker mockups, memes for example, help increase engagement.

So if you’re seeing your engagement go down, your feed is probably do for a makeover.

And I may just have what you need: Our Instagram Canva templates.

We have two sets of templates available. I mix them both in my feed and have never had more engagement than now!

Our Instagram Canva templates have it all.

They were created based on my absolutely highest engaging posts, designed exactly to stop the scroll and generate comments, saves and shares (and if you write your captions right, lots of clicks on the link in bio as well!).

If you don’t have time or skills to create this type of content on your own check them out!
