Big Instagram News - Posting Reels with Trending Audio Just Became So Much Easier

My prayers have been answered, well at least as it comes to posting Reels!

Now we can schedule Reels to auto-publish with the trending audio or song we want from Instagram, directly inside the app -- so it's also FREE!

Scheduling Instagram Reels and Posts is now easier than ever! This is a great way to save time and stay organized when it comes to scheduling content for your Instagram page. With this feature, you can plan out your content ahead of time, so you can focus on producing quality content while still maintaining a consistent presence on Instagram.

Instagram had been testing and a scheduling feature for a little while, but until know we didn’t know exactly how it would work. Would it include Instagram Reels? And if so, would we be able to schedule Reels with the trending sounds and songs we wanted to use?

Luckily the answer to those two things is YES!

Until now other Instagram partner apps like Later and Planoly, already allow you to auto-publish Reels. But in those apps, you need to upload the Reel to the app, which means you can't have any stickers or sounds from Instagram (and re-uploading the audios as your own can be copyright infringement).

But with this new instagram Scheduler feature, we have no reason to interrupt our days of work and post manually anymore!

A huge win for our productivity and mental health!

Plus can we agree that if we create out draft and schedule to auto-publish, we will not have another chance to rewatch it and overthink it!

But now the tricky part: lots of people have been reporting major glitches in this feature. My Reel auto-published at the right time without a problem. But the second one I tried, was published right away instead.

If you use Reels, you’re probably very familiar with Instagram glitches. So we will have to be patient until they figure it out. So just in case, safe a copy of all your Reels videos and captions before you post. I recommend just duplicating your drafts, by going to drafts and in the page where you see a grid of your drafts you can tap on the right bottom of the Reel draft you want to duplicate and choose duplicate.

That way you will have a copy of your Reel, caption and all that you can save as a back up in case of glitches or even if you forget to add music or make a bad typo (if you’re like me). You can also reuse this draft with a new topic. I do this all the time!

How to schedule Instagram Reels to auto-publish inside the Instagram App

When you're creating your Reel, scroll down under the captions and click Advanced and the first option, if you already have this feature, is Schedule Post.

If you don't see this update available in your account yet, don’t worry, it's normal! With over 2 billion users, it’s only natural that Instagram rolls out new features slowly to different users, and sometimes different countries.

Nothing to do but to keep the app up to date and wait.

Note that many users have been experiencing glitches with this new feature. So if you have this update and will try to schedule your Reels to auto-publish, make sure you save a backup and check to see if your content is being publish while this feature is still new.

reels drafts PRO TIP:

Always duplicate your Reels drafts before you publish them or schedule them to be auto-published. This way you have a backup and you can always reuse that same Reel later.
