3 Ways to scale your social media management business
Guest post by Gabriella Galante
Ready to scale your social media management business but don’t know where to start?
“I feel capped out and overwhelmed as a social media manager! How can I grow my business?”
If you have ever asked yourself this, congrats, you’re officially a social media business owner!
In order to scale my agency to surpass 6 figures I had to banish the idea that I had to do it all, that I had to be on call 24/7 in order to be successful, and the idea that I had to DO more to make more.
But keep on reading, social media managers, because there is another way!
Let’s dive into how you can grow your social media business without feeling like you’re going to explode with overwhelm or burn out to a crisp!
First ask yourself these questions:
“Do I feel capped out with my time?”
“Am I resenting any of my current clients?”
“Do I have the capacity to take on any more clients?”
If you answered yes to any of those, you’re in the right place!
3 Ways to scale your social media management business
1) If you feel capped out with your time and your clients, you need to look at your automations and processes.
Audit the tasks that take you too long. You know the ones, the “busy work” like putting out additional Instagram stories (not in your scope of work), engaging fruitlessly on client’s accounts, and extravagantly doing end of month reports from scratch.
While they are necessary tasks, they’re not core money making tasks that have to be done by you! This is a classic case of putting in place automations and delegations to relieve some of these pressures. I.e. using a platform like Flick.tech to speed up your hashtag research, signing up for Your Template Club so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time, or having an automated on-boarding process.
A lot of these systems or platforms are low cost but once in place they’ll save you tons of time so you can take on more clients!

2) If you’re resenting your clients you need to increase your pricing.
When was the last time you increased your pricing? If it was over 6 months ago PLEASE promise me you’ll do it again.
But – you can’t just decide on a number and hope it sticks. If you’re doing a yearly cost of living increase, start with a 5-10% increase. I seriously doubt your client will jump ship over a mere 10% increase when the quality is there!
If you know you’re undercharging and you get that pang of dread when you go to do their work, you need to look into your pricing strategy. Pricing should be calculated in accordance with your goal income, a time-task audit, your expenses, and your experience.
These variables are all laid out in my done for you pricing calculator inside Glow Getter Academy.
Once you properly outline your package price ask yourself if this feels aligned. You can justify your pricing increase by providing an elevated client experience. I call this the first-class factor (I.e. seamless onboarding and premium customer service). You know – the kind of experience that makes your client gush and tell all their friends!
Resenting your clients ultimately leads to lower quality work as you likely know you’re not getting paid enough so “why bother.” Trust me, this lose-lose situation is only going to hurt your business in the long run!
My GGA students charge everything from $1000 to $3000 a package! There is always someone who will pay for your services when they value you, your work and your service!
3) If you don’t have the capacity to take on any more clients.
Truth time – we only have a select number of working hours a day! And if you’re like me, you do not want to be working more than a few hours a day. The best part is, you can run a successful business and not feel like you have to be on call 24/7 (hem hem- boundaries).
When it comes to your clients, bringing on a VA or support member to offload the tasks that do not require your expertise is going to change the game for you. (I.e. engagement, reporting.)
If you do a time audit and find you’re spending 1 precious hour on engagement per day that is 5 hours a week! I bet you could take on another full time client with that time and after you pay out your support team, you’ll still make a profit!
After all, business should be fun! You’re not in it to be glued to your client’s accounts 24/7!
This is only a few of the ways you can begin to scale! If you’re ready to scale your social media management business to 5 k and beyond without worrying about where to find the right clients, check out my free video training!
